INFORMATION ON BAODING
Baoding is a middle-sized city in the center of Hebei province with a history of 2300 years and population of some 1 million. It is 150km south of Beijing, the capital of China and is called the “south gate” of Beijing.
Access
The best route to Baoding city is Beijing Capital Airport-- Beijing West Railway Station --Baoding city. Please note the enclosed maps (see below) which indicates the key spots for you.
The first choice airport for the symposium is Beijing airport. Taxi is always available at the airport. The taxi fare to Beijing West Railway Station is about 100-200 RMB(15-30$). Another vehicle is airport bus. The airport bus fare from airport to Beijing West Railway station is about 16 RMB ( about 2.3$).
The train time table from Beijing West Railway Station to Baoding is showed in the following. There will be an IJS2008 desk at the Baoding railway station to direct delegates on September 21. In Baoding city, taxi is the first choose and the fare is about 1- 2$ from Baoding railway station to Zhongyin Hotel.

Climate
Baoding has a continental climate in the north temperate zone. The winter is cold and dry, and the summer is hot and humid. The spring and autumn are the best seasons. September is the beginning of autumn with average temperate of about 20-23℃.
Currency
The currency in China is Renminbi (RMB) or Chinese Yuan (CNY, ￥). The official exchange rate of RMB to USD is about 7.0:1 (subject to fluctuation). Most foreign currencies and traveler’s cheque can be changed at banks and hotels.
Drinking water
It is recommended to drink bottled or boiled water in China.
